Postnatal Fitness Classes

Mums who train together, laugh together, grow together

Having a baby is like going into battle. We have to be focused, it takes a toll on our mental and physical strength and without doubt, there will be blood. Our body goes through a lot and is totally different when we come out the other side. Our body has served us well but it can take a lot of getting used to; we may not be able to do the things we once so easily could, it’ll look different and it’ll feel different. And that’s amazing. These classes are all about getting to know our new body, feeling for our limits, challenging it and regrouping our mind and body. They’re also about making friends, sharing stories and reclaiming a bit more ‘you’.

Core and Restore

This is a 6 week programme. Please see the schedule for latest term dates. Drop-ins are welcome, but it’s advised to do the whole programme for the best results.

Starts 7th January 2025

mums and babies fitness classes

Where do you start with feeling like yourself in your body again? At Core & Restore! This 6-week programme is designed to help you reconnect with your body after pregnancy and birth, build essential strength, and feel confident moving again. It’s perfect if you’re not sure where to begin with exercise, feel like your stomach muscles are non-existent, or wonder if you might have diastasis recti. Core & Restore will guide you step by step to restore your strength and confidence.

Who It’s Suited For

Core & Restore is ideal for mums from 6 weeks to 3 years postnatal who are ready to start moving again. Whether you’re dealing with diastasis recti, pelvic floor concerns, or just want to feel stronger and more in tune with your body, this program is for you. It’s also a space to ask questions, learn about postnatal recovery topics like incontinence and prolapse, and connect with likeminded mums.

What to Expect

Each 60-minute session blends gentle core exercises, breathing techniques, stretches, and functional strength training. You’ll learn how to engage your core and pelvic floor, work on posture and alignment, and build the strength you need for the demands of mum life—like lifting babies, buggies, and beyond! This program is about making you feel capable and confident, one step at a time.

mums and babies strength fitness classes highbury

Are you ready to feel stronger, more confident, and fully prepared to handle the physical demands of mum life? Mum Strong is a 6-week outdoor strength training program designed by a mum, for mums. Using dumbbells, kettlebells, and benches, this program helps you build the strength, stamina, and grace you need to lift, carry, and keep up with your little ones—whether they’re wriggling in your arms, learning to crawl, or running full speed ahead.

This isn’t just a workout—it’s a transformative journey to becoming the strong, capable mum you deserve to feel like.

Who It’s Suited For

Mum Strong is perfect for mums who feel they’ve recovered from the early postnatal phase and are ready to level up their fitness. Whether your baby is starting to crawl, walk, or run, this program helps you develop the strength to move with them confidently—and safely.

Not necessarily a “buggy fitness” class, but you’re welcome to bring your buggy (and baby!) along. If they need rocking, walking, or holding, we can always make it work—because mum life doesn’t stop for a workout.

What to Expect

Each 60-minute session is held outdoors and tailored to the needs of busy mums. You’ll work through a combination of strength-based exercises that improve your functional fitness, from carrying a baby in one arm to lugging a buggy and a bag up the stairs. With a focus on form, strength, and progression, you’ll leave every session feeling stronger and more in control.

Expect exercises like kettlebell deadlifts, bench presses, and squats—movements that strengthen your back, shoulders, and legs, while also improving posture and movement patterns. And if your baby needs a cuddle or a stroll mid-class, that’s no problem—we’re all mums here and I’m happy to hold your baby if it’s appropriate and safe to do so!

FIT30

30 Minutes to a Stronger You

Tired of dragging through your mornings or feeling like you’re in a fitness rut? Our FIT 30 group classes are a game-changer. We’re not just sweating it out; we’re building strength, endurance, and mobility—all in a power-packed half-hour. FIT30 group fitness class emirates stadium

The focus is on:

Total-Body Strength – Circuit training naturally engages various muscle groups, allowing you to build functional strength that’s applicable not just in the gym, but in everyday life. Whether it’s carrying groceries or playing with your kids (or grandkids!), this class gets you better prepared for it all.

Endurance Boost – Consistency and variety in the circuit setup means you’ll be challenging your cardiovascular system. Over time, you’ll notice you can go longer and harder in both your workouts and your daily activities, without feeling worn out. According to research, this type of training can improve both your anaerobic and aerobic energy systems.

Mobility Matters – We often underestimate the value of being able to move freely and without discomfort. Our sessions incorporate stretching and mobility exercises that help offset the stiffness and posture issues that can come from a modern, sedentary lifestyle.

What to bring:

If you’ve got a mat, please bring that along. Otherwise, just yourself, clothes you can move easily in, and water.

When and where:

General group fitness sessions take place at Emirates Stadium every Monday and Thursday at 9am. This is term-time only and some holidays – please see the timetable for the accurate schedule.

We generally meet by one of Emirates stadium entrances.  However, when you sign up for your first session, you’ll receive an invite to the FIT30 WhatsApp group where you’ll be informed of any location changes, as well as learn about opportunities to sign up for obstacle course races, runs and more (all optional!)

Best suited for:

Whether you’re a workout newbie, a busy parent, or you’re just looking to shake up your fitness routine, FIT 30 is perfect for you. We’ve got all ages and all fitness levels covered. Some participants are parents from Drayton Park School, some have children who have left home, some enjoy cold water swimming, tennis and also want something to add to their fitness regime, some are women wanting to prepare for menopause, some are dads looking for an antidote to their desk job – there’s lots of different, amazing people who attend!

The classes also provide an excellent way to meet other mums

Eliza’s classes are fantastic. They’re a fun way to get back into exercising after childbirth. Eliza is very supportive and the classes also provide an excellent way to meet other mums, share experiences and get support!

Nan Laurence

I really liked how you listened

I really liked how you listened to my situation and were able to interpret how you could help me. I also enjoyed how you explained everything to me (I guess talking during a massage is personal preference) and that’s made me feel more positive towards how I can make an impact on my body myself.

Sophie

Thanks to Eliza, I consistently do exercise now

My primary motivation for seeking out a personal trainer was to find someone that could help this reluctant exerciser want to come back for more. Eliza has not only done that for me but so much more. Thanks to Eliza, I consistently do exercise now – not just with her in our fantastic sessions – but in my own time too. I feel she has equipped me with the skills that I need to know in order to exercise with the correct techniques to make the mot out of what I’m doing – whether it’s a brief HIIT session, boxing or a full weights routine. She has given me the tools to actually get on and incorporate a healthier lifestyle in my day to day, and I’m grateful.

I’ve always felt like I’m in very capable hands

From our initial consultation I knew Eliza was a different breed, we didn’t jump into cardio, instead she took the time to look at my posture and think carefully about what I needed to work on. Eliza brings in thinking from lots of different disciplines and so there’s a lot of variety in what we do. It’s challenging and fun in equal measure. I’ve always felt like I’m in very capable hands, and she’s adapted our work-outs as things have progressed and we use a range of at-home equipment to keep it interesting. As an aside she’s also got great chat and is a fount of knowledge for everything baby and birth related which has been a real bonus…

Your body is being challenged and getting stronger with each session

I really love Eliza’s classes. Eliza gives incredible thought to the exercises she gets us to do, ensuring they are appropriate for post-natal women and yet challenging enough to feel like your body is being challenged and getting stronger with each session. She guides us through the exercises to make sure we are doing them correctly.

Eliza is a fantastic trainer

Eliza is a fantastic trainer and motivator! I’ve really enjoyed working with her.

I’ve been such an evangelist that my husband now trains with Eliza too

I’ve felt energetic and happy throughout my pregnancy and I think these sessions are hugely responsible for that. I’ve slept well, and haven’t had the usual aches and pains, nor have my hands and feet swollen. If you’re sick of people telling you to ‘put your feet up’ but don’t know what to do, then Eliza would be a great place to start. I’ve been such an evangelist that my husband now trains with Eliza too.

The babies seem to have a great time

The babies seem to have a great time, with the older ones happily playing on a mat with lots of toys in the middle – and Eliza will happily hold / rock / bounce your baby if needed! I look forward to trying out her outdoor sessions.

She really cares about your recovery

I have recently started attending Eliza’s Repair, Restore & Retrain classes after the birth of my second child. Eliza is passionate about women’s health and has undertaken training specific to postpartum recovery so I feel in very safe hands. She really cares about your recovery and takes any postpartum issues you may have into account during the class. As such, she pitches the classes at just the right level as well as making them fun 🙂 On top of that, she is absolutely lovely and holds my velcro baby as needed to allow me to focus on the class. 10/10! Thank you Eliza!

I was able to access much greater shoulder mobility

After the massage I was able to access much greater shoulder mobility.  I noticed this in my yoga (both in down dog and warrior poses – I was able to get my arms much closer in to my ears and more vertical above my head).  I have also been more aware of shoulder position when carrying rucksack, sitting, walking etc, trying to hold the shoulders low and further back.  This makes some other muscles (particularly side of neck) tight and prompts me to stretch them (and receive LOOKS from Nuria).  I also notice tingling sometimes when this happens, which tells me that the position of the shoulders is different but also that there is more work to do here…

I am feeling far stronger and more confident getting back into exercise

Eliza has been giving me postnatal PT sessions for the last couple of months and I can’t emphasise enough how fantastic she has been. Eliza takes a very warm and understanding approach, and I am feeling far stronger and more confident getting back into exercise because of her considered workouts. Importantly, she also has a cracking sense of humour. The Warrior Method is invaluable.

One of the most effective massages I’ve ever had!

You spent time understanding what my problem areas are at the start and focused on those. You made sure I was comfortable throughout in terms of the level of pressure you used, which I really appreciated. It was one of the most effective massages I’ve ever had – I felt great afterwards! Also really appreciated you showing me the two stretches after to help me loosen up those tight muscles.

Nausheen

It’s a really enjoyable, up-beat session

I started going to Eliza’s Restore, Repair etc class on Tuesday afternoon when I was 6-weeks pp. It’s a really enjoyable, up-beat session with lots of variations depending on injury’s / fitness, focusing on getting moving again and strengthening glutes / back.

CS

An unsung hero in her personalised and caring approach

As a new mom navigating the challenging waters of post-natal fitness (and motherhood), I had the immense fortune of discovering Eliza and The Warrior Method. Eliza is an incredible post-natal personal trainer and wonderful human being! Eliza is true professional who understood the unique needs and challenges that come with postpartum recovery and the pressures we put on ourselves as new mums. I cannot recommend or rate Eliza enough! Her blend of humour, empathy and fun allow a safe space to not get it right the first time but to build the resilience and strength to keep working in pursuit of your goals. She truly is an unsung hero in her personalised and caring approach. She really cares for her clients, radiates a positive and no BS attitude (even with 3 young children of her own). By emphasising exercise and strength to support positive mental health, physical strength and endurance over aesthetic, Eliza really empowers new mums and others on their individual fitness journeys.

Sarah Da Silva

I leave every class feeling great

It feels like a group PT session rather than a cringey post-natal exercise class. Plus you get the collegiality and fun of being around other women all going through the same experiences (including Eliza herself who has three young boys). I leave every class feeling great about myself and my body!

AT

Linking the emotional with the physical made total sense

I was really relaxed at the end of it. Apart from the actual massage, which felt incredibly nice and not at all painful (my worry previously when anyone suggested a sports massage), I particularly liked the starting diagnosis/questioning, where I felt heard and got some good insight into why this problem might have happened in the first place. Linking the emotional with the physical made total sense to me.

Nuria

I always leave feeling so much better

Love these mum and baby fitness classes with Eliza. They are a fun way to start to rebuild your fitness after having a baby. I always leave feeling so much better, and have made some new mum friends along the way too.

Liz Mundy

Would recommend to anyone who’s bored of the gym or regular fitness classes

There’s a focus on setting intentions before the sessions start and I particularly like the balance exercises which look easy, but are actually quite a struggle. Would recommend to anyone who’s bored of the gym or regular fitness classes – I guarantee you’ll learn something new and get sweaty in the process. I’m seeing progress in my strength already and look forward to getting better each week.

Rosie Flynn

The workouts are perfectly designed for your post pregnancy body

I have been seeing Eliza as a PT post birth, also for group workout sessions and now am using her online sessions for nearly three years. Eliza is really down to earth with such a sunny personality it’s a pleasure to be taught by her! The workouts are perfectly designed for your post pregnancy body, are easy to follow and get you sweaty and feeling stronger in a safe way! Thank you Eliza.

Mel Draisey

The repair class is a perfect way to restart exercise after giving birth

Eliza is an amazing trainer. I find her advice very helpful especially the posture corrections. The repair class is a perfect way to restart exercise after giving birth. It’s very fun and relaxed which makes exercising with a baby so much more enjoyable.

Tuyen Nguyen

I gained mobility

I think for me the most interesting bit was experiencing the difference when the muscles have been loosened and I gained the mobility.  I found this really motivating to do something about this.  Much more than someone telling me that my shoulders are forward and my back slightly curved, you were able to show me. That’s really powerful!

Richard

They’re exactly what I need to build back my energy and strength

I’ve now attended a range of Eliza’s classes, and they’re all terrific! They’re exactly what I need to build back my energy and strength postpartum. Eliza creates such welcoming spaces, including by making it very easy to bring one’s baby along. She designs every session thoughtfully, offers lots of variations for exercises, and overall makes every class challenging yet fun. Thanks, Eliza!
